Rush’s 2015 Business Roundup


Looking back over 2015, it has been a very busy year for Rush! Opening 12 salons, growing out of London and the South for the first time and winning some big awards. We take a look back at Rush’s 2015 business growth and industry highlights…

The first salon to open in 2015 in TOWIE hotspot was Rush Brentwood opened by long standing employee and now franchisee, Graham Bates. Soon after was Rush Twickenham opened in June with hair stylist turned franchisee, Leona Loosley. Then, new franchisee Debra who brought the glamour of Rush to Weybridge in July, followed by Rush Kilburn opening its doors with previous House of Rush stylist Nita Brainch.

In August Rush opened their luxurious second flagship salon, in London’s Stratford Westfield shopping complex. Continuing to grow further to salon number 70, Rush grew out of London and the South for the first time to open Rush Liverpool with new franchisee Natalia.

In September, Rush Co-Founder and Chairman Andy Phouli, was awarded the prestigious Hairdressing Director of the Year 2015 at the HJ British Hairdressing Business Awards.

Into the Autumn, Rush opened 6 more salons and expanded into new areas up and across the country. Birmingham and Cambridge were opened by new franchisees, joining the Rush family. Rush salons in the South were opened by Ruth in Haywards Heath and Nicola and Marc opened Rush Dorking, making this Nicola’s second Rush franchise.

Rush Dorking was opened by previous Rush franchisee Nicola Keith-Jopp, she opened her second franchise salon with her partner Marc. Now running two successful salons close by each other, Nicola is growing her franchise network and earned herself a finalist nomination for Franchisee of the Year at the HJ Hairdressing Business Awards in September.

In October, Rush hosted Rush Live, the annual charity hair extravaganza in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children’s Charity. This year it was held at Salon International and attracted a large crowd from the hair industry to raise over £10,000 for the children’s charity.

2015 ended on a high with Andy Heasman becoming the new International Creative Director or Rush. Stell Andrew, Rush Co-Founder and former International Creative Director, decided to hand over his title to Andy. Stell will still remain heavily involved with Rush, continuing to work and support Andy to develop the Rush Brand and the Rush Artistic Team’s international presence.

Andy has been with Rush for over 10 years leading the art and education teams and is the franchisee of Rush Victoria. Andy was then further recognised for his work in the British Hairdressing Industry by being awarded Hairdresser of the Year 2015 at the British Fellowship Hairdressers Awards.
 
 
It has been an exciting and jam-packed year at Rush and we are excited for what we have coming in 2016. More franchise salons will be opening in exciting new locations and further career and training opportunities are coming soon.
