And this year the Rush Oscars go to…
Rush’s annual awards ceremony, with lots of glitz, glam and some emotional acceptance speeches… it’s The Rush Oscars!
The Rush Oscars took over the Phoenix theatre in London’s West End last night to celebrate the hard work and achievement over the last year across all sectors of Rush.
The evening started with an inspirational speech from Chairman Andy Phouli reflecting on the hard work and growth Rush has achieved over the last year. 2015 saw Rush become a nationwide salon brand, opening salons in new cities: Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol and Cambridge. He emphasised the importance of training and hard work for a long lasting and prosperous career.
Train and train and train. What’s a professional? Someone who trains! With the right direction and training you can all win awards…We are the fastest growing salon chain in the UK, now we are nationwide and with 20 more salons coming this year. No one can touch us!”
Andy then handed over to Lauren Ellis from Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children’s Charity. Rush have been part of the HAIRaising charity fundraising for the children’s hospital for 5 years and have raised over £120,000.
Stell Andrew reflected on starting the business with Co-founder and business partner Andy, 21 years ago. He has now handed his title of International Creative Director over to Andy Heasman.
Andy and Stell announced that Rush will be opening a new academy in London’s Covent Garden which will be a “creative hub” for all stylists to continue training and develop in their careers, led by Andy Heasman and the Art Team. There were many winners on the night from assistant, stylist, retailer, beauty therapist to franchisee and head office awards. New members of the art and workshop team were announced and an outstanding achievement awards was presented to Andy Heasman. The winner of Rush’s photographic competition was Michael Rackett from Rush Centrale.
This is a huge opportunity for Michael and he will now be sponsored by Rush to produce a collection to enter into the British Hairdressing Awards. and being recognised by the British Hairdressing Industry.
